They've been tree cutting for the past 2 hours. I find it hard to believe that all this tree cutting is justified.

If it's on the bike path next to the lineacambridge fence, the reason may be safety and property damage.

Property owner was issued a tree removal permit back in December 2019.

How many trees were removed in 3 hours? Does the property owner have to compensate for the tree canopy reduction by planting an equivalent number of trees elsewhere?

There was one permit to remove a significant tree. There may have been other trees removed that did not require a permit for removal if they were smaller than 8” DBH.

As of right now, the tree ordinance for smaller properties does not require any type of mitigation for trees removed on private property. The city is reviewing the current tree ordinance.
