Description

This road is a particular hot mess. Saw a motorcyclist almost go down. Please fix ASAP as it’s a huge safety risk to motorcycles and bicyclists.

A. a straight line and wide gap in the direction of traffic and perfectly situated to bring down a motorcycle or bicycle. huge safety risk.

Q. What were you doing when you encountered the pothole/depression?
A. Walking

Q. If signage, a barricade, cone or other device covers the pothole whose name appears on it? (e.g., EBMUD)
A. none. seemingly getting no attention from anyone. for decades.

Unfortunately the City does not have enough funding to repave all streets in poor condition. With limited funding, our response to resurfacing requests is limited to minor pavement and pothole repairs only. Our Street Maintenance Department will assess your street and determine whether temporary measures might be appropriate. Please understand that this work may be limited to pothole or other minor repairs, and that we have many similar requests. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner. The backlog of streets in Oakland needing pavement currently is $435 million and growing.

Yes, I saw a bicyclist go down hard at 26th Street near Adeline (just I think east of Adeline-away from the Bay). She was unable to ride her bike, declined an offer to be taken to the hospital, but I did give her a ride home and my friend rode her bike home for her. It's hard to believe Oakland can't take care of these huge potholes with all the taxes being collected. How about hiring some more street pavers? Lawsuits are very expensive also.

Just drove over the monstrosity again this morning. It is absolutely not fixed. It's a third world road. Re-opening as it is a real threat to bicyclists, motorcyclists, alignment and decency. Please resolve before someone gets hurt. Thanks.
